One last thing before I move on

So, I know I said I wasn't going to post about Twilight for a while but I just have one more thing to show you.

Remember that little crush I have on Jasper? Well, it was only a matter of time before I thought of something I could make to express my love. I searched on etsy for jasper stones and found this:

jasper bead

A jasper bead complete with a naturally formed heart! I love how it's flawed, covered in scars like Jasper's skin. It's pale and smooth and I bought it immediately!

jasper necklace

I turned it into a necklace Tuesday night...something simple but just what I wanted. In addition to this and possibly an Edward necklace, I'm playing around with Twilight quilt ideas but nothing has caught my attention yet. I know there's a Twilight block of the month but it's not really my thing.

Ok, I'm done now. I leave you with this:

  1. I was thinking the same thing about a twilight inspired quilt! But I couldn't really think of anything yet. I love the stone and am very impressed that you made it into a really cool necklace.

  3. Regina,

Seriously, I'm beginning to suspect that there are no great Twilight quilt ideas! I don't really want red and black or the book cover or blocks showing lions and lambs or a big ol' Team Edward applique. I want something that feels like Twilight and looks like Twilight but also is something I'd actually want to have in my house. Something subtle, you know?

    Hmmm...this is hard...

  4. It's perfect - symbolic without being too fangirl. Lovely.

  5. I was thinking more along the lines of something that made me think of the rainy Washington weather, or some that is clean and pure like how there house must look like. I tend to think more about the color scheme rather then the design. I would have no idea even where to begin in a quilt design. lol

  6. Jenn and Jane,

Thanks! I hate being all fangirl so subtlety was the key.

  7. Regina,

You and I are on the same page here, I think. My friend Karrie was thinking about this too and she brought up the fact that all of our ideas would look terribly gaudy sitting in the Cullen's living room. But I don't want to make a "shades of white" quilt because, you know, how boring. I was thinking of some way to represent the meadow, sort of a watercolor quilt in green with splashes of color. Or maybe a blue/green combo with shades of darkness lurking about.

But then there's the actual design part which is important too. The color and pattern have to work together. I think I need to do a stream of consciousness sort of exercise to generate some ideas.

  8. oh I love the blue green combo with the shades of darkness. If your stream of consciousness stumbles upon anything let me know. you have way more experience then me, but I would love to make another quilt and one like this sounds so fun, They have to be fun for me so I don't leave it unfinished and then it won't haunt me dreams.
