There and Back Again

"Dwight, if you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?"

"I
can travel anywhere, except Cuba, and I will travel to New Zealand and walk the Lord of the Rings trail to Mordor and I will hike Mount Doom."

In the spirit of Dwight Schrute, Ian and I completed our quest to Mount Doom this weekend. We never left the house but it was exhausting all the same. We managed to finish all three (extended edition!) Lord of the Rings movies in just over a day (we fell asleep two hours short of our goal and had to finish up in the morning).

It was a good thing we planned a day's worth of Hobbit-inspired meals to keep up our strength!

Eating like Hobbits was a little more...intense than I imagined it would be. It was fun and delicious but all that cooking and eating was nearly a full time job. Yes, it was a heavy burden to bear...but we did it all for the Shire!

The End.
