Ian and I have been making pumpkin things. Pumpkin seeds, bread, stir-fry (shown above), tempura and pizza. We also cubed and partially cooked FIVE trays of pumpkin to freeze for future meals. It's been all pumpkin, all the time.
And also Halloween candy. And also apple cider.
The combination of sunsets and changing leaves has been so, so glorious! Colors so saturated they hurt your eyes! The world has been set on fire. I only wish it would last.

Some days are crisp and warm, others are rainy and cold. I've been inside weaving and twisting fringe. Ian is cooking hearty meals as summer vegetables disappear from the market. There are gourds going on in our house! It's a time of transition. I'm thinking of what I want to do once I'm finished with holiday gifts. I have some new ideas for quilts. I have some new ideas for old quilts. There never seems to be enough time.

Days are shorter, it's chilly in the mornings now. Fall is creeping in one leaf at a time. But just a week ago, it was still summer. Petals were vibrant, bees were busy. Here's to the summer, to green and pink and orange. I will miss you when you're covered with snow...but I know I will see you again soon.
